The Sun in the Wood is a great venue for celebration parties.

You can also book the Pub for your private parties or Weddings etc....

We also have a fantastic 9 hole crazy golf course in our woodland garden, and this makes for a great BBQ party event, without breaking the bank.  


The Privilege Club

Are you a member of The Sun in the Wood Privilege Club? Getting a Privilege card is simple and it is free.

All you need to do is visit us on four occasions in a three month period. You will then get your gold Privilege Club Card.

You can then use this on all future visits and save towards receiving your £20 Privilege Club vouchers.

       (or up to 100 if you want the whole Pub)

from something relaxed and simple, through to a fully dressed

The menu displayed here is available to parties of ten or more people who book & let us have their food order at least 2 days in advance.

 (This Party menu is not available during December)

 

 

 

Dietary needs:All dishes are made here in our pub kitchen, because of this we can consider all dietary needs and the ingredients used. All sauces, soups and gravy are made using gluten free recipes and we can even offer gluten free bread.

 

Please tell us when ordering your food, about any dietary requirements,

 

including gluten & dairy free as these

 

dishes are prepared separately & may be slightly modified.

Today’s homemade Soup

 with freshly baked bread

 

Hot pot of garlic mushrooms

in a creamy white wine sauce

 

Crispy fried Brie in filo pastry,salad,

fresh raspberry & redcurrant dip

 

Salmon & haddock fishcake

with a dill & lime mayonnaise dip

 

Homemade chicken liver & Brandy pate, caramelized red onion chutney & toasted bread

 

 

Individual fillet of beef Wellington with Port

& Stilton sauce & seasoned sauté potatoes      

 

Crispy skin-on fillet of sea bass on a fish & potato cake with a sauvignon Blanc & dill sauce     

 

Slowly braised shank of lamb on minted mash with a red wine, garlic & onion gravy      

            

Breast of Chicken with Brie, wrapped in bacon on cheddar mash with a creamy leek sauce
